MANKATO, Minn. – On Friday evening, the Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team completed the series sweep of Crown College with a convincing 62–55 victory to improve to 7-3 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference standings and 9-9 overall.
Sophomore
Haley Sandin (Zimmerman, Minn.) finished the contest with 28 points to tie her season high. The guard connected on 18-20 from the free throw line to propel the Vikings past the Storm. Senior
Minnie Frederick-Childress (Flint, Mich.) added 14 points, eight rebounds, five steals, and four assists in 34 minutes.
As a team, BLC shot 32.1% (18-56) while making 78.8% (26-33) of their free throw attempts. The Vikings and their pressure defense forced 32 turnovers and 19 steals. The largest lead for Lyle Jones and his women's basketball team was 19 points with nine minutes remaining in regulation.

The Vikings will remain on their home court Saturday afternoon (3 p.m.) as the Cougars from Minnesota-Morris arrive for another very important UMAC matchup. The Cougars entered the weekend sitting in second place in the conference standings with an 8-1 record.
