MANKATO, Minn. – On Saturday afternoon, the Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team resumed Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play against the Northland Lumberjills. The Black and Red improved to 6-7 on the season and 4-2 in conference play following a 74-61 win over the Lumberjills.
From the start, the Vikings showed their dominance to complete the weekend sweep of Finlandia Univeristy and Northland College. Leading the charge on Saturday afternoon was
Haley Sandin (Zimmerman, Minn.). The sophomore concluded the contest with 28 points and eight rebounds while teammate guard
Minnie Frederick-Childress (Flint, Mich.) added 14 points and eight steals in 38 minutes of court time. Junior
Rachel Sorensen continued to provide the spark off the bench for BLC, as she connected on 3-8 from three-point land to end with 12 total points.
Dakota Ellinghuysen (Peterson, Minn.) was strong on the glass again for Bethany, bringing down 10 rebounds.
As a team, BLC shot 37.7% from the field while adding seven three's compared to the Lumberjills five long ball's. The largest lead for the Vikings was 33 points.
