DULUTH, Minn.  – The Bethany women's soccer team (7-11, 5-7) traveled up north to Duluth to take on Scholastica (11-6-3, 10-1-1) in their last regular season game of the season. The Saints were too much for the Vikings winning by a score of 5-0.
 
The Saints came out fast and scored their first goal of the game in the third minute after a one on one opportunity against Viking goalkeeper Averi Cash. Over the next few minutes, Cash made a few saves in net to keep the Saints from widening their lead. In the 34th minute, the Saints scored their second goal of the game. Time expired at the end of the first half with the Saints ahead 2-0.
 
The Saints continued their dominance in the second half, scoring three more goals and keeping the Bethany offense from getting any looks at the net. The Saints would win by a final score of 5-0.
 
The Vikings were not able to record any shots in the game while the Saints racked up 23 with 15 on goal. The Saints also had six corner kicks while the Vikings had none. Averi Cash made 10 saves for the Vikings.
 
With the loss to Scholastica, the season ends for the Vikings without a return trip to postseason play. The Vikings headed into today's contest needing at least a win to move ahead of Northland in order to secure the fifth playoff spot.
