ASHLAND, Wis. – After falling to both St. Scholastica and UW-Superior last weekend in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action, the Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team returned to the hardwood on Friday night against the Lumberjills from Northland College.
The Vikings kept their postseason hopes alive with a 60-56 victory over the Lumberjills. With the win, BLC improves to 10-12 overall and 8-6 in the conference to remain in the fourth spot in UMAC standings.
The Vikings were led by
Haley Sandin (Zimmerman, Minn.). The sophomore had a game high 26 points, going 7-11 from the charity strip. Junior
Dakota Ellinghuysen (Peterson, Minn.) was close to a double-double, scoring nine points and collecting nine rebounds.
Minnie Frederick-Childress (Flint, Mich.) scored six points to go along with 10 rebounds and four steals.
Brooke Henning (Worthington, Minn.) added seven points to the offensive attack.
As a team, BLC shot 33.3% (21-63) from the field while the Lumberjills rang in at 37.5% (24-64). The Vikings scored 21 points off the Lumberjills turnovers.

The Vikings will play a non-conference game on Saturday afternoon in Hancock, Michigan against Finlandia University. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
