MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team triumphed over the University of North Central Rams 72–60 Friday evening to begin the final weekend of the 2016-17 regular season.
With the win, BLC improves to 12-12 on the season while maintaining a 9-6 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference record while the Rams fall to 6-17 overall and 3-12 in conference.
The Vikings were led by junior
Rachel Sorensen (Windom, Minn.) who finished with five three-pointers to total 15 points off the BLC bench. Senior
Minnie Frederick-Childress (Flint, Mich.) contributed with 10 points and 10 assists at the guard position. Sophomore
Haley Sandin (Zimmerman, Minn.) climbed a tad closer to reaching 1,000 career points with 12 points on Friday night while
Taylor Schultz (Wells, Minn.) drained two long balls to add 10 points for the offensive attack.
As a team, BLC shot 45.3 percent (24-for-53) from the field while making 50 percent of their outside shots. The Vikings forced 18 turnovers while out-rebounding the Rams 38-37.

The Vikings will welcome the University of Northwestern Eagles to the Sports and Fitness Center Saturday afternoon for the conference finale. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
