DULUTH, Minn. – After defeating St. Scholastica in three straight meetings, the Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team fell to the Saints in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action on Friday night.
THE BASICS:
Final Score: St. Scholastica 68, Bethany Lutheran 61

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Vikings started strong, holding a 21-11 advantage over the Saints after the first 10 minutes of play.
- CSS used a strong third quarter which proved to be the difference maker on their home floor, outscoring BLC 23-8 out of the half.
- St. Scholastica had 40 total rebounds compared to the Vikings 35.
- The two teams combined for 39 total turnovers.
- The largest lead for BLC was late in the first quarter when leading by 12 points.
- The largest lead for CSS was late in the fourth quarter when leading by as many as 14 points.
- Both teams shot under 40 percent in 40 minutes of UMAC women's basketball
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Sophomore Haley Sandin (Zimmerman, Minn.) moved up to sixth all-time in BLC women's basketball scoring history with her 20 points. The sophomore now has 384 total points this season alone, to total 903 in her young career.
- JuniorBrooke Henning (Worthington, Minn.) finished with 18 points and six rebounds.
- Senior Minnie Frederick-Childress (Flint, Mich.) added 11 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and three steals against the Saints.
