SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team dropped an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) game to the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Saturday afternoon at the Mortorelli Gymnasium. Final score was 80-63.
Following the loss, the Vikings fall to 9-12, 7-6 in UMAC while the Yellowjackets improve to 18-4, 13-0 in UMAC.
Providing the offensive spark for BLC on Saturday was sophomore
Taylor Schultz (Wells, Minn.) and
Minnie Frederick-Childress (Flint, Mich.). Coming off the bench, Schultz added 14 points on 4-of-5 from outside the three point arc. Frederick-Childress scored 13 points while adding six assists and five steals.
Haley Sandin (Zimmerman, Minn.) scored 11 points, nine of which came from the free throw line.
As a team, BLC shot 32.1 percent (17-of-53) from the field and 37.5 percent (6-for-16) from outside range. The Vikings committed 20 turnovers compared to the Yellowjackets 22. UWS held the rebound advantage, 47-30.

The Vikings continue UMAC action next Friday night in Ashland, Wisconsin when they take on the Lumberjills from Northland College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
