Vikings Sweep North Central at U.S. Bank Stadium

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Returning to U.S. Bank Stadium for the final time in 2017, the Bethany Lutheran baseball team swept a non-conference doubleheader against the Rams from North Central University on Saturday afternoon.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS:
Senior right-handed pitcher Brandyn Olsen (Blue Earth, Minn.) picked up his third win of the 2017 season with his complete game victory over the Rams. Olsen gave up just two runs while scattering seven hits and striking out seven batters to help the Vikings to their fourth win of the season. Offensively, Alek Zentzis (Forest Lake, Minn.) provided the excitement with his three run home run in the bottom of the first inning. The senior finished with two hits and five RBI's. John Brown (Lake City, Minn.) and Kevin Harris (El Paso, Texas) each had two hits and two runs scored. Brown recorded two RBI's while Harris added one. Nolan Grose (Waterville, Minn.) also had two hits and two RBI's as the Vikings first basemen.
 
GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS:
Junior Alex Babcock (Elk River, Minn.) earned his first collegiate win in game two of the doubleheader. The righty entered the contest in the fifth inning, striking out five of the 16 batters he faced. Kevin Harris and Brandyn Olsen propelled the Vikings with four of the seven total hits in the nine inning contest.
 
UP NEXT:
The Vikings will begin the home portion of their schedule on Friday, March 31st against Crown College. The non-conference doubleheader will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the BLC Baseball Field.
