TUCSON, Ariz. – The Bethany Lutheran softball team arrived in Arizona ready to compete in the Tucson Invitational Games beginning at Sunday. The Vikings played a pair of games against two different opponents. Game one featured the Vikings taking on Hiram College before concluding day one against St. Francis (Ill.).
GAME ONE: Bethany Lutheran 7, Hiram College 2:
Junior
Anna Pipenhagen threw a complete seven inning game to propel the Vikings to their second win of 2017. The right-hander gave up two earned runs while striking out five batters. Offensively, BLC scattered 13 hits on Hiram.
Samantha Meginbir,
Katelyn Karels, and
Kendra Porath each had two hits apiece.
GAME TWO: St. Francis 15, Bethany Lutheran 3:
In the second game of the split doubleheader, the St. Francis Fighting Saints defeated BLC. Official statistics will be posted when they become available.
UP NEXT:
The Vikings (2-5) will continue play on Monday, March 6
th against Hiram College and Newbury College. Game one will begin at 11 a.m. (MST).
