ST. PAUL, Minn. – On Sunday afternoon, the Bethany Lutheran baseball team traveled to CHS Field to play the Hamline Pipers in a non-conference doubleheader in the regular season finale. Hamline would take both the games of the doubleheader.
The Basics:

- Game one: Bethany Lutheran 0, Pipers 15
- Game two: Bethany Lutheran 4 , Pipers 7
GAME ONE:
Hamline would strike early and often in game one. The Pipers tallied 16 total hits in route to 15 runs. The Vikings tallied eight hits, but were unable to get anything across. BLC struggled on the field coughing up five errors, which proved to be a difference maker.
Walker Linde was a bright spot for the Vikings in game one with two hits and a walk.
GAME TWO:
The Pipers continued the hitting and scored two early runs in the second contest. The Vikings would answer with four runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead.
Nolan Grose would bring in the first run of the day for the Vikings with his second double. Hamline would answer with a four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning which proved to be too much for the Vikings.
Freshman
Logan Nissen (Olivia, Minn.) made his first collegiate start on the mound for BLC. The right-hander pitched a solid six innings, giving up nine hits against a strong offensive team.
UP NEXT:
The Vikings end the 2017 regular season with a 20-17 overall record and a 12-4 conference mark. Head Coach Ryan Kragh and the Vikings earned the two seed in the conference standings and will face the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars in the first round of the 2017 UMAC postseason tournament. The tournament will be held in Duluth, Minnesota and the Vikings will play on Thursday, May 11
