St. Paul, Minn. – The Vikings men's soccer team (1-3, 0-1) lost their UMAC opener on the road to Northwestern (2-1-1, 1-0) by a score of 5-0.
Northwestern tallied 21 total shots, 12 on goal, compared to Bethany's eight total shots, four on goal. The Eagles didn't take long to score their first goal, netting their first shot 1:35 into the game. The Eagles scored one more goal in the first half and then added three in the second.
Jonathan Sehloff recorded four shots for the Vikings and was able to put three of those on goal. Trenton Krueger played 74 minutes in net for the Vikings making six saves and allowing four goals. James Strom played 16 minutes in net for the Vikings making one save and allowing one goal.
Up Next: The Vikings play their next game at home on Saturday, September 16 against conference opponent St. Scholastica. The men's game will begin at 2 PM and will be followed by the women's game at 4:15 PM.
