ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The Bethany Vikings (9-6, 6-1) beat the Crown College Storm (6-8, 2-4) on the road by a score of 100-84.
Both teams played with a lot of energy in a very even first half. At the break, the Storm led 46-44. The Vikings struggled from behind the arc, shooting 4-15, but they were able to score at the rim as well as the free throw line. The Vikings were 12-15 from the charity stripe in the first half. Blake Lindstrom paced the Viking offense with 10 points, going 4-5 from the field with two 3-point field goals. Crown College was hot from the field in the first half, shooting 53.3% from the field and 6-12 from the arc.
The Vikings tightened their defense in the second half, holding Crown to 32.6% from the field overall, although the Storm still managed to go 7-17 from behind the arc. The Vikings continued to attack the rim hard, drawing fouls which led to 13-15 shooting from the free throw line. Bethany shot 51.6% from the field in the second half on their way to a 100-84 victory.
Blake Lindstrom led all scorers with 19 points, going 5-7 from deep. Neil Eichten finished with 17 points and three assists and Austin Bauer scored 16 points. Brady Rose was 10-10 from the free throw line on his way to 14 points.
