ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The Bethany Vikings (11-4, 5-2) beat the Crown College Storm (6-8, 2-4) 77-45, dominating from beginning to end.
The Vikings put together one of their best offensive starts of the season tonight as they jumped out to a 40-23 lead in the first half. The Vikings shot 16-31 (51.6%) from the field and 3-7 from deep. Haley Sandin led all first half scorers with 10 points on 4-8 shooting. Brooke Henning was 2-4 from behind the arc on her way to eight first half points. The Viking defense was tough, holding Crown to just 10-37 shooting (27.0%) overall and 1-12 from the three-point line.
The Vikings continued their dominant play in the second half on both ends of the floor. Their defense was stellar, holding Crown to 20% shooting in the second half. On the game, Crown shot just 16-67 (23.9%) from the floor. The Vikings finished the game 27-54 (50%) from the field and 7-16 (43.8%) from three. The effort from the Vikings secured a 77-45 victory, moving them to 5-2 in conference play.
Haley Sandin scored 16 points and dished out six assists to lead the Vikings. Hanna Geistfeld scored 14 points for the Vikings on 6-10 shooting. Brooke Henning paced the Vikings from deep, going 3-6 from behind the arc and finishing with 13 points.
