Haley Sandin becomes Bethany's all-time leading scorer

MANKATO, Minn. – Haley Sandin was the fastest player in Bethany women's basketball history to score 1,000 career points, doing so during her sophomore season last year. Now, Sandin is at the top of the record books as she has become the all-time scoring leader in Bethany women's basketball history since the school became a four-year NCAA institution in 2004.

Haley Sandin entered Saturday's game on the road against Wisconsin-Superior thirteen points shy of the women's basketball all-time scoring record. The UMAC leading Yellowjackets were the top team in Saturday's game, beating the Vikings 90-72, but Sandin scored 15 points to break the record and bring her career total to 1,284.

Haley Sandin is a junior from Zimmerman, MN and is only in her third season with the women's basketball team at Bethany. Sandin has played in 66 games for the Vikings and holds a 19.5 career points per game average. Sandin is currently fifth all-time in three-point field goals made and first in free-throws made. Sandin has helped the Vikings to a 9-4 start overall and 4-2 start in conference play.
