Pella, IA. – The Vikings Women's Basketball team extended their current win streak to three wins with a 69-53 victory over the Central College Dutch. The win will keep the Vikings at an undefeated 3-0 to start the season.
The start of the game would see the Dutch start off hot, going on a 6-0 run that later became an 11-4 run. However, the Vikings would rally behind
Abby Olson and
Natasha Young's combined 15 point effort to take a 29-26 lead at the half. The Vikings would carry that lead going into the second half, using the third quarter to put them up by 11. The Vikings would extend their lead to 63-43, and would go on to win the game 69-53.
The Vikings were able to control the backboard, out rebounding the Dutch 41-39; and also leading them in second chance points 5-0. The Vikings also took advantage of the Dutch's 23 turnovers, scoring 25 points off of turnovers. One big factor in the win was the Vikings ability to control the pace, outscoring the Dutch in fast break points 8-2.

Abby Olson with 21 points, 5 assists, and 7 rebounds and
Hanna Geistfeld with 20 points and 6 rebounds.
Up next: The Vikings will play their third road game of the season against the Hamline University Pipers on Saturday, November 17th at 5 P.M. in St. Paul, MN.
