St. Paul, MN. – The Vikings Women's Basketball team extended their current win streak to four wins with a 78-70 victory over the Hamline Pipers. The win will keep the Vikings at an undefeated 4-0 to start the season.
The Vikings started off hot, going on a 16-9 run. However, the Pipers would rally behind a 9-0 run to take a 34-35 lead at the half. The Vikings would go into the second half hot again, using the third quarter to put them up by 9. The fourth quarter would see the Vikings get out to a 10 point lead, and win the game by 8.
The Vikings were able to control the glass, out rebounding the Pipers 49-24; which led to a second chance points advantage of 18-13. The Pipers bench outscored the Vikings 24-4, but the Vikings held a 10-6 fast break point advantage.
The Vikings were led by
Hanna Geistfeld with 19 points and
Abby Olson with 18 points, 5 assists, and 10 rebounds.
Haley Sandin also had 17 points and 5 rebounds
Up next: The Vikings will face off against the St. Catherine University Wildcats at home on Tuesday, November 20th at 7:00 p.m.
