Box Score 2 Minneapolis, Minn. – The women's tennis team couldn't pick up a win in Minneapolis at the Baseline Tennis Center this weekend. The Vikings played Morningside College in their first match, losing 7-2 and played Hamline in their second match, losing 9-0.
Against Morningside, Madelynn Thompson won by forfeit in her singles match at the sixth spot for the Vikings. Lydia Wildauer and Madelynn Thompson won their doubles match by forfeit at the third position. Leah Schaefer and Justine Bennett each got a couple games off their opponents in their singles match, but couldn't do enough to come up with wins.
In the second match of the day against Hamline, Justine Bennett took the second set off her opponent by a score of 7-5 after dropping the first set 6-1. Bennett wasn't able to capture the tiebreak and lost by a score of 1-6, 7-5, 0-1 (4-10).
Up Next: The women's tennis team plays UW-Superior in UMAC action on Saturday, February 24 at Lifetime Fitness in Lakeville, Minn.
