Women's Tennis

Women’s tennis plays a couple of matches against Vikings and Yellowjackets

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LAKEVILLE, Minn. – The BLC women's tennis team lost a pair of matches on Saturday at Lifetime Fitness in Lakeville. The Vikings lost their first match to Grand View University by a score of 6-3 and lost a non-conference match against UW-Superior 8-1.
 
The Vikings had a tough day against Grand View all around, but Justine Bennett showed improvement in the second set of her singles match at the number three position, taking two games off her opponent. Sadie Sandersfeld and Emily Barthel won by forfeit at the fifth and sixth singles spots. Justine Bennett and Nicole Moldstad teamed up at the second doubles position and took a couple of games from Grand View, but lost the match 8-2. Sandersfeld and Barthel collected the third win for the team at the third doubles spot with another forfeit. Grand View beat BLC by a score of 6-3.
 
In the second match of the day against UW-Superior, Nicole Moldstad picked up a win for the Vikings at the fourth singles spot. Moldstad battled and defeated her opponent in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3. Justine Bennett found some success in the first set of her singles match, taking four games from her opponent, but she came up just a little bit short. The Yellowjackets defeated the Vikings 8-1.  
 
Up Next: The Vikings have some time off before their next set of matches on Saturday, March 17th against Buena Vista and Mount Marty. Those matches will be held in Owatonna, Minn. at the Owatonna Tennis Center.
