MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany Vikings (18-5, 11-3) beat Crown College (9-13, 4-9) on Wednesday evening by a final score of 67-54.
 
Tied at eight points midway through the first quarter, the Vikings closed on a 7-0 run to gain separation from the Storm. The Vikings carried that momentum into the beginning of the second quarter with a layup and free throw from Haley Sandin. The Vikings continued their steady push and widened their lead to 13 points after a three from Emily Skrien. The Vikings went into halftime with a comfortable 30-21 lead.
 
Bethany started quickly in the second half. Abby Olson scored six of the Vikings first eight points and helped BLC to a 20 point lead after she hit another three with four minutes left in the third. Crown cut the Bethany lead to seven points with four minutes left in the fourth quarter, but another three from Emily Skrien bumped the lead back to 10 points and stopped the momentum for the Storm. Solid free throw shooting down the stretch helped the Vikings secure a 67-54 win.
 
Haley Sandin scored a game-high 23 points and was 10-11 at the foul line. Abby Olson scored 17 points for the Vikings and was 4-7 from behind the arc. The Vikings shot 42.3% from the field as a team and went 15-16 at the free throw line.
