Vikings come up just short

Box Score Owatonna, Minn. – The BLC women's tennis was back in action after a couple weeks off. The Vikings narrowly missed out on their first win of the season, falling to Mount Marty 5-4.

The Vikings are still seeking their first win of the season and they nearly had it against the Lancers. Mount Marty was two players short which gave BLC automatic wins at the fifth and sixth singles spots along with the third doubles position. The wins were credited to Averi Cash and Fallon Yates. The Vikings then got another win from Denae Walton and Leah Schaefer at the number one doubles spot. Walton and Schaefer earned their first win of the season as a pair by defeating their opponents 9-7. Nicole Moldstad played tough at the fourth singles spot and almost gave the Vikings their deciding victory, but lost a close match 6-4, 7-5.

Up Next: The Vikings swing into UMAC play next weekend against North Central. The Vikings and Rams will play Saturday, March 24 at 5 PM in Fridley, Minn. at Lifetime Fitness.
