Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Roseville, Minn. - The Bethany baseball squad was back in action on Thursday after two weeks off with a doubleheader against Northwestern. Bethany and Northwestern split on the day with Northwestern taking the first game 7-6 and the Vikings winning the second by a tally of 9-5.
  
In game one Northwestern took the lead early and Bethany couldn't make the uphill climb back into the game. The Eagles went ahead 3-0 in the top of the fourth inning before the Vikings found the scoreboard and posted two runs in the bottom of fourth when Diego Martiarena hit a sac fly that was followed with a single by Jake LaBerge that plated a run to make the score 3-2. Northwestern answered though and scored three runs in the fifth inning and one in the sixth to gain a 7-2 advantage. A Walker Linde single scored a run in the sixth and Bethany tacked on three more in the 8th to make the score 7-6 going into the 9th but Bethany came up just short as the tying run ended the game at third base.

In game two Bethany took the lead early and didn't look back. Bethany built a 5-0 lead in the first two innings and the bats produced three more runs in the fifth and one in the seventh to gain the victory. Linde went three for four in the contest with two runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Vikings. Martiarena, Mylo Hommes, and Ross Beumer all added two hits and two RBI's for the Vikings with Hommes hitting his second home run of the season. Logan Nissen got the win on the mound going five innings and striking out nine. Hunter Hamers came on in relief and allowed just one run in his four innings of pitching.

UP NEXT: The Vikings have a busy schedule ahead and their next contest will be next Wednesday, April 18th at Crown College with start times of 1:30 and 3:30 PM.
