MANKATO, Minn. – The BLC men's tennis team played their first and last home match of the season on Wednesday afternoon. The Vikings celebrated senior day, honoring Dexter Jackson and Kenny Johnson, as they took on the University of Northwestern. It was a tough match for the Vikings who were defeated by the Eagles 8-1.
Laine Larson/Dalton Werckman played well at #1 doubles, but didn't quite have enough as they lost 8-6. Larson/Werckman have a UMAC of 5-2 in doubles play. Carter Dahl/Dexter Jackson struggled at #2 doubles, losing 8-2. Dahl/Jackson also hold a 5-2 record in UMAC play together.
Dexter Jackson bounced back in his singles match, winning 7-6 (14-12), 7-5. Jackson improved to 5-2 at #4 singles in UMAC play. Carter Dahl fought hard in his match, but lost in three sets 2-6, 6-3, 12-14. Dahl is 4-3 at #3 singles.
Up Next: The Vikings finish their regular season schedule with a non-conference match against Crown College on Friday, April 27. The match will be played at Jordan Middle School in Jordan, Minn. at 5 PM.
