MANKATO, Minn. – Bethany Lutheran's Logan Nissen is pitching well for the Rochester Honkers of the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is one of the nation's premier summer collegiate baseball leagues. More than 160 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball.
 
Nissen saw his first action for the Honkers on July 26 in St. Cloud. Nissen pitched two innings in a 2-1 win for the Honkers. He gave up just one hit and had three strikeouts. Nissen pitched again two days later on July 28 in a 12-10 loss to the Willmar Stingers. Nissen threw for three innings and gave up just one hit and had five strikeouts.
 
Nissen just finished his sophomore season for the Vikings. Nissen earned First Team All-Conference honors this past year and helped power the Vikings to their first-ever UMAC regular season and tournament championship while advancing to the NCAA Regional.
