MANKATO, Minn.—Junior Hanna Geistfeld (Truman, Minn.) tied her career-high with 31 points in Bethany Lutheran's 92-72 win over Waldorf Monday. She previously achieved this feat at Crown on Feb. 6, 2019. Geistfeld finished with a double double with her team-high 11 rebounds.
The Vikings moved to 4-0 on the season while the Warriors dropped to 2-3.
BLC trailed by three at halftime but used a strong third quarter to reclaim the lead. Bethany pulled ahead 52-51 with 5:39 to play in the frame and compiled a 6-0 run as it began to build its margin. The Vikings outscored the Warriors 31-19 in the stanza and continued to lead by double digits in the fourth quarter.
Juniors Abby Olson (Montevideo, Minn.) and Kenlie Pytleski (East Chain, Minn.) scored in double figures with 27 and 18 points, respectively. Olson also recorded a double double with her 10 rebounds.
Bethany held the advantage in two of the three shooting percentage categories, assists, steals, and won the rebound battle. Defensively, it held Waldorf to 27.3% from three-point range.The Vikings conclude their five-game homestand Friday when they host Central at 6:30 p.m.
