MANKATO, Minn.—The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season Friday as it fell 81-54 to Central (4-1 overall).
Junior Hanna Geistfeld (Truman, Minn.) had a double double for the second-straight game as she finished with 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Classmate Abby Olson (Montevideo, Minn.) joined her in double digits with 16 points.
The Dutch scored the first basket of the game and never relinquished the lead. Olson made a trey at the buzzer to cut the margin to 10 (39-29) at halftime.
Central continued to maintain a double digit margin in the second half and led by as many as 33.
The Vikings owned the advantage in free throw percentage (69.2 vs. 61.5), rebounds (51-44) which included on the offensive glass (33-9), and steals (12-7).
This concluded the five-game homestand as BLC takes to the road for a short trip Monday in an exhibition contest against Minnesota State Mankato at 6 p.m.
