Women's Soccer to Face Martin Luther in Conference Tournament

MANKATO, Minn.-- The Bethany Lutheran women's soccer team (8-9 overall) travels to face Martin Luther (7-9-1) Monday at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinal of the UMAC Conference Tournament. The Knights are the fourth seed and the Vikings are the fifth seed.

The Series
BLC owns the series lead at 16-10-3 as the programs have met at least once every season since 2004. The Knights claimed the two meeting this seasons.

Bethany Lutheran
This marks the first appearance in the conference tournament for the program since 2016.

Junior Maddie Perry (Anoka, Minn.) leads the team with 20 goals and one assist for 41 points. Sophomore Zoe Kinakin (Victoria, British Columbia) follows with three goals and freshman Gina Harmening (Courtland, Minn.) has two.


Junior Leah Sonnenburg (Lakeville, Minn.) has played 979:00 in the net, has 54 saves, five wins and one shutout.

Perry is third in points (82), third in goals (35) and the career leader in game-winning goals (11).

Sonnenburg is tied for fourth in wins (6), tied for eighth in saves (54) and tied for 10th in shutouts (1). Kinakin is sixth in saves (118) and tied for fifth in wins (5).

Perry has set the record in goals (10), points (41), and in game-winning goals (7). Sonnenburg is tied for second in wins (5).


Martin Luther
Lydia Bitter leads her team with six goals and Mary Falck follows with four.  Keeper Mollie Fischer has played every minute in the net and has 115 saves, seven wins and one shutout.
