SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Bethany Lutheran men's basketball team (5-4 overall, 2-1 UMAC) suffered its first conference loss to UW-Superior (6-4, 4-0) 84-60 Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Justin Schrupp (Danube, Minn.) had a career-high 14 points to lead the team. Sophomore Cire Mayfield (St. Louis Park, Minn.) joined him in double digits with 10 points.

The Yellowjackets opened the game on a 24-0 run over the first eight minutes and never relinquished the double figure margin.

The Vikings did own the advantages in offensive rebounds (12-8) and assists (13-12).

BLC returns to competition Monday when it hosts Carleton at 7 p.m. for the final game before the holiday break.
