THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Junior Jared Milinkovich (New Prague, Minn.) gave Bethany Lutheran the 92-90 win with his two free throws with 0.4 seconds left in overtime Saturday. Messiah had time to attempt one more play, but was unsuccessful.

The Vikings moved to 6-4 on the season and will play Rosemont Monday at 4 p.m. Pacific in the Championship Game of California Lutheran's tournament.

Sophomore Cire Mayfield (St. Louis Park, Minn.) led a group of five players in double digits as he had 22 points. Senior Trenton Krueger (Eagan, Minn.) had a double double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Trevin Nelson (Chisago City, Minn.) had 15 points, Milinkovich finished with 14, and sophomore Jacob Milinkovich (New Prague, Minn.) had 11.

Smith sent the game to overtime with his basket as time expired in regulation. Towards the end of the overtime session, the game was tied at 90 with 0:17 left. Milinkovich was later fouled and made the eventual game-winning shots at the free throw line.

Bethany moves to 16-12 all-time in overtime games and has had two overtime victories this season to date.
