LAKEVILLE, MN – The Bethany Lutheran College women's tennis team bounced back on Friday morning with a convincing 7-2 win over North Central University.
Taylor Bolduan picked up her third singles win of the season, defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-2 at the #1 spot. Shoshana Bruner played the #2 spot for the Vikings and also picked up her third win of the season by a score of 6-1, 6-0. In the 4th spot, Audrey Petersen won 6-1, 6-2 for her first singles victory of the season. Jessalyn Aune-Smith won a tough battle at the 5th spot in three sets, 7-5, 6-7 (4-7), 13-11. Emma Carmichael battled back after losing the first set and gave the Vikings their fifth singles win, defeating her opponent 1-6, 6-2, 10-5.
Bolduan and Bruner teamed up for their fifth doubles win of the year by a score of 8-5. Aune-Smith and Petersen collected their first doubles win of the season together by a score of 8-6.
Up next: The Vikings have a quick turnaround as they will play two matches tomorrow against Morningside College (IA) and Northwestern College (IA) in Owatonna, MN at the Owatonna Tennis Center.
