MANKATO, MN – The Vikings are dancing for the first time ever and the brackets have been announced. The BLC women's basketball team tuned in together to watch the selection show which revealed that they would be heading to the 13/15th ranked Wartburg College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to take on the Knights.
Wartburg College, located in Waverly, IA, is the host team, taking on Bethany Lutheran in the 8 PM game on Friday, March 1. The 5:30 PM game will feature two other Top 25 ranked teams as 9/10th ranked Hope College (MI) plays 21st ranked Wheaton College (IL). The two winners of the first round matchups will meet in the second round on Saturday, March 2nd at 7 PM.
This marks the fourth-straight and 13th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the Wartburg Knights who are 17-12 all-time in the dance and have advanced to two Final Fours. Wartburg is 24-3 on the season and finished 15-1 in the American Rivers Conference (ARC) to win their third consecutive regular season championship. In the conference tournament, the Knights defeated Loras College in the championship game to win their third-straight crown.
