Vikings fall to Storm

ST. BONIFACIUS, MN.  – The Vikings men's basketball team lost their third UMAC game of the season, falling to Crown College 95-88. It was a high-scoring, back and forth game, but the Storm ended on top.

The two teams traded leads throughout the first half. The Vikings found themselves up by nine points at the 13 minute mark in the opening period. The Vikings shot 50% from the field in the first half, but struggled to find their rhythm from the three-point line, going 3-11. The Storm shot 47.1% overall in the first half and made 6 of their 14 attempts from deep. The two teams ended the half tied at 45.

The second half stayed tight with Crown taking a slight advantage at the 12 minute mark. The Vikings battled back and tied the game with nine minutes to go. The Storm stayed hot, however, and pulled away with a 95-88 win.

The Vikings turned the ball over 17 times in the game, leading to 16 points for the Storm. The Vikings were better from the three-point line in the second half, shooting 6-13, but Crown made 11-22 in the game to hold the advantage. The Storm also had a 24-17 advantage at the free throw line.
