MANKATO, MN – After an outstanding sophomore season, Abby Olson was named to the D3hoops.com West All-Region 3rd Team. The 2018-19 D3hoops.com All-Region teams have been announced. Players were nominated for these awards by Sports Information Directors at represented schools. In total, there were 716 players nominated nationwide.
Olson had a breakout year for the Vikings, averaging 18.5 point per game. She led the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) in scoring at 19.0 points per game. Olson canned 70 three-point field goals on the year at 37.8%. In UMAC play, she was number one in three-point field goals made as well as percentage as she finished with an impressive 43.5%. She finished the season with a total of 462 points which puts her 5th all-time in the BLC record books for most points in a season.
Olson was a driving force behind the Vikings most successful season in school history which saw them win a total of 22 games and advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever. She was a UMAC First Team All-Conference selection and was named the UMAC Tournament MVP.
