LAKEVILLE, MN – The Bethany Lutheran College men's tennis team moved to 2-0 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play, cruising to an 8-1 win over Crown College.
Dalton Werckman and Carter Dahl stayed undefeated together in UMAC play with an 8-1 win at #1 doubles. Laine Larson and Nico Martinez Biali also moved to 2-0 in UMAC play with an 8-3 win at #2. Noah Gernander and David Lee cruised to their first win of the season together at #3 doubles with an 8-2 win.
BLC took five out of six singles matches beginning with a 6-4, 6-2 win at #1 by Laine Larson. With the win, Larson evened his singles record to 4-4 on the season. Dalton Werckman made quick work of his opponent with a 6-3, 6-0 win at #2. The UMAC player of the week, Carter Dahl, displayed his dominance with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #3. Nico Martinez Biali picked up his first UMAC win with a 6-0, 6-0 win at #4. Noah Gernander had a good day, picking up a thrilling three-set win at #5, 4-6, 6-4, 10-2. David Lee fell 6-2, 6-4 at #6.
Up Next: The Vikings are in Duluth tomorrow to take on St. Scholastica at the Duluth Indoor Sports Center. The women play at 12:30 PM and the men will follow.
