DULUTH, MN – The BLC Vikings women's tennis team had a tough back-to-back this weekend. The Vikings defeated Crown College yesterday in Lakeville and then had to travel all the way up to Duluth to take on the College of St. Scholastica today at 12:30 PM. The Saints handed the Vikings their first loss in UMAC play by a score of 9-0.
The Vikings struggled in doubles play, only winning two games total in their three matches. Taylor Bolduan and Shoshana Bruner won both of those games against their opponent, but fell 8-2.
In singles play, Bolduan lost 6-0, 6-2 at #1 and Bruner lost 6-2, 6-0 at #2. Audrey Petersen and Emma Carmichael fared the best in their matches, each taking a total of three games at #4 and #6 singles respectively. Jessalyn Aune-Smith lost her match at #5 by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
Up next: The Vikings play UW-Superior at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, MN on Saturday, April 6th at 2 PM.
