ST. PETER, MN – The Bethany Lutheran women's tennis team hosted UW-Superior on Saturday afternoon for some UMAC action. The weather didn't allow the Vikings to host their first matches of the season outside in Mankato, so they took on the Yellowjackets indoors at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, MN.
It was a tough day for the Vikings who were only able to take one game from the Yellowjackets in their doubles matches. Audrey Petersen and Emma Carmichael worked together to take one game from Superior. In singles, Shoshana Bruner came out strong in the first set at #2 singles, but would eventually be outdone, losing 7-5, 6-0. Jessalyn Aune-Smith took a total of three games from her opponent, but lost 6-2, 6-1. In the end, the Yellowjackets defeated the Vikings 9-0.
Up next: The Vikings will play their Alumni match on Sunday, April 7 at 12 PM at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, MN.
