Mankato, MN. – The Bethany Lutheran College Vikings softball team split their games againt the St. Scholastica Saints, losing the first game 5-1 and winning the second game 7-2. The win sets the Vikings record at 25-1 and it ends their undefeated streak in the UMAC conference, with a record of 15-1.
The first game started off with the Saints scoring two runs in the first inning, and then the Vikings would respond by scoring one. In the top of the fourth inning, the Saints would score three runs, and that would leave the game with it's final 5-1 score. The Vikings only run came from a first inning
Eden Ambrose RBI, allowing
Zoe Kinakin to score.
The Saints scored right away in the first inning again, but just one run. The Vikings would answer that with 2 runs coming off of
Zoe Kinakin and
Anna Hoffman RBI's. The Vikings continued to apply pressure to the Saints, and only allowed one run to be scored. They were able to win 7-2.
Up next: The Vikings travel to St. Peter, MN to face Gustavus in a double header on Tuesday, April 30th, with the first game beginning at 2:00 P.M.
