RIPON, Wis.— The Bethany Lutheran volleyball team (2-1 overall) split its final two matches at the Ripon Quadrangular Saturday.
The Vikings fell 3-0 to Dominican (Ill.) (25-11, 25-20, 25-18), but swept Finlandia 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-14) in the tournament finale.
For her efforts on the weekend, senior Mindy Poehler (Nicollet, Minn.) was named to the All-Tournament team.
Against Finlandia, junior Brittany Sanders (St. James, Minn.) had a career-high five services aces. Senior Veeva Lee (St. Paul) and freshman Sarah Strom (Mankato, Minn.) followed with four each as the BLC recorded 16 aces in the match. The Vikings owned the team advantages in kills, hitting percentage, assists, aces, digs, and blocks.
Bethany returns to the court Wednesday for its home opener against Carleton at 7 p.m.
