Women's Basketball Hosts Northland

MANKATO, Minn.-- The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team (10-2 overall, 3-1 UMAC) continues its four-game homestand Saturday against Northland (2-8, 0-4) at 3 p.m. The Vikings are in third in the conference standings and and the LumberJills are eighth. BLC enters the weekend on a five-game winning streak.

The Series
BLC owns the all-time series lead at 19-11 and have won the last 15-straight.

Bethany Lutheran
Junior Hanna Geistfeld (Truman, Minn.) leads the team with 21.2 PPG. Classmates Abby Olson (Montevideo, Minn.) and Kenlie Pytleski (East Chain, Minn.) follow with 20.5 and 10.5 PPG, respectively.

Geistfeld nearly averages a double double with a team-high 9.5 rebounds/game and Olson has a team-best 41 assists and 25 steals.

Career Record Watch
Olson ranks second in three-point field goals (133), fifth in points (1,066), sixth in assists (218), seventh in field goals (345), and eighth in free throws (235). Geistfeld is fourth in field goals (385) and sixth in points (999). Pytleski is tied for sixth in blocks (53). Senior Emily Skrien (Nicollet, Minn.) is ninth in three-point field goals (71).

Against the Conference
The Vikings lead the league in free throw percentage (.753).

Geistfeld is the second-leading scorer (18.8 PPG), ranks first in free throw percentage (.875), second in field goal percentage (.519), third-leading rebounder (7.8/game).  Olson is the sixth-leading scorer (15.8 PPG).

Northland
Two players average in double digits as Miranda Wagner has 12.2 PPG and Lindsay Bressette has 10.4 PPG. Sarah Houle leads the team on the glass with 5.8 rebounds/game.
