Krueger Joins 1,000 Career Point Club in Victory over Cougars

MORRIS, Minn. – Senior Trenton Krueger (Eagan, Minn.) became the ninth member of the Bethany Lutheran 1,000 career point club in the 91-77 win over Minnesota-Morris Saturday.

The Vikings move to 13-5 overall and 8-1 in UMAC games while the Cougars are 5-12, 2-7. This victory moved the winning streak to eight and also completed the season sweep between the teams.

Krueger joined the club on his putback early in the first half. He would finish with 23 points and 15 rebounds for this third consecutive double double.

Five teammates joined him in double figures as junior Jared Milinkovich (New Prague, Minn.) had 19, sophomore Cire Mayfield (St. Louis Park, Minn.) and freshman Hunter Nielsen (New Prague, Minn.) each had 12, and juniors Trevin Nelson (Chisago Lakes, Minn.) and Brian Smith (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) tallied 10.

BLC took the lead early in the game, but UMM battled back to regain the lead at 17-15 with 11:22 to go. The lead would change hands three times over the next two minutes until Bethany gained the lead for good at 20-19 with 9:36 to play. The Vikings later took the 38-32 lead at halftime and used a 53-point second half to seal the win.
