MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team (16-2 overall, 9-1 UMAC) continued to increase its school record with its 11th-straight win in the 97-64 win over Martin Luther (1-17, 1-9). Junior Natasha Young (Nicollet, Minn.) had a career-high 15 points on the night, with 10 in the second half alone.
This marked the 10
th-straight win in the series and completed the season sweep.
Three teammates joined her in double figures as juniors Abby Olson (Montevideo, Minn.) and Hanna Geistfeld (Truman, Minn.) and sophomore Laura Ellinghuysen (Winona, Minn.) recorded 14, 13, and 10 points, respectively.
The Vikings scored the first nine points of the contest and never looked back. The Knights did outscore the home team 21-16 in the second quarter, but it wasn't enough to overcome the initial deficit.
All players that dressed saw playing time for BLC.
Bethany owned two of the three shooting percentage categories, rebounds (48-40), assists (21-8), blocks (3-0), steals (14-8) and forced 24 turnovers.
