Women's Basketball Hosts UW-Superior in First Place Showdown

MANKATO, Minn.-- The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team (20-3 overall, 13-2 UMAC) concludes the regular season as it hosts UW-Superior (17-7, 13-2) Saturday at 4:45 p.m. The two teams are tied for first, so the winner of this contest will be the UMAC regular season conference champion and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament next week.

The Series
UWS owns the all-time series lead at 14-3, but BLC narrowly claimed the first meeting of the season, 69-68 back on Dec. 14.

Bethany Lutheran
Junior Hanna Geistfeld (Truman, Minn.) leads the team with 22.0 PPG and 10.1 rebounds/game. Classmate Abby Olson (Montevideo, Minn.) follows with 19.6 PPG, and has 77 assists and 40 steals.

Olson ranks second in three-point field goals (164), second in assists (254), third in points (1,270), fifth in steals (147), field goals (409), and free throws (283). Geistfeld is third in field goals (483), fifth in points (1,251), and sixth in rebounds (578). Pytleski is sixth in blocks (63) and 10th in three-point field goals (67). Senior Emily Skrien (Nicollet, Minn.) is ninth in three-point field goals (79).

Geistfeld is second in field goals (193), fourth in points (506), and tied for seventh in free throws (117). Olson is fourth in three-point field goals (62), sixth in points (450), and tied for 10th in assists (77).

BLC leads the league in offense (77.7 PPG) and field goal percentage (.436).

Geistfeld is first in scoring (21.8 PPG), field goal percentage (.640), and in rebounding (10.0). Olson is fourth in scoring (17.8).

UW-Superior
The 'Jackets have three players that average in double figures as Eva Reinertsen leads the way with 18.7 PPG and 8.3 rebounds/game. Emily Carpenter follows at 13.1 PPG and Marissa Ruiz has 11.0.
