Vikings Host Cougars in UMAC Semifinal

MANKATO, Minn.-- The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team (21-3 overall) host Minnesota-Morris (17-9) in a UMAC Tournament Semifinal Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The Vikings are the No. 1 seed and the Cougars are the No. 4 seed.

The Series
Minnesota-Morris leads the series at 23-12, though the Vikings have won the last four-straight meetings. This includes both regular season games this season.

Bethany Lutheran
Junior Hanna Geistfeld (Truman, Minn.) leads the team with 21.8 PPG and 10.3 rebounds/game. Classmate Abby Olson (Montevideo, Minn.) follows with 19.4 PPG, and has 80 assists and 41 steals.

BLC in Conference Tournament
This marks the fifth-straight year and sixth overall appearance in the UMAC Tournament.

Olson ranks second in three-point field goals (166), second in assists (257) and points (1,286), fifth in steals (148), field goals (415), and free throws (285). Geistfeld is second in field goals (489), fourth in points (1,268), and sixth in rebounds (591). Pytleski is sixth in blocks (64) and 10th in three-point field goals (67). Senior Emily Skrien (Nicollet, Minn.) is ninth in three-point field goals (79).

The Vikings are: ninth in free throws (418),  20th in assists/game (16.9) and scoring offense (77.1 PPG), 24th in won-loss percentage (87.5), 28th in rebound margin (9.6), 35th in assists (406), 38th in points (1,851), 42nd in rebounds/game (44.79), 46th in field goal percentage (42.2), 52nd in scoring margin (13.5), 57th in assist turnover ratio (0.97), 61st in three-point field goals/game (7.3), 85th in three-point field goals (175), 86th in free throw percentage (71.7), and 92nd in rebounds (1,075).

Individually, Geistfeld is seventh in field goal percentage (61.8), 11th in double doubles (16) and scoring (21.8 PPG), 12th in points (523), 13th in field goals (199), 17th in free throws (122), 58th in rebounds/game (10.3), and 65th in rebounds (246).

Olson is 28th in scoring (19.4 PPG), 34th in three-point field goal percentage (40.0), 35th in points (466), 39th in free throws (110), 42nd in three-point field goals/game (2.67), and 46th in three-point field goals (64).
