Trio Records Double Digit Kills in Loss to Rams

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Three members of the Bethany Lutheran volleyball team (3-12 overall, 1-3 UMAC) finished with double digit kills in the 3-1 loss to North Central (5-8, 2-2) Friday night.

It was a very competitive match as three of the four sets needed more than 25 points to win. The Rams claimed the first set 27-25, before the Vikings won the second frame 25-18. NCU won the last two sets 26-24 and 27-25.

Junior Alexis Morsching (Morristown, Minn.) had 19 kills, while classmate Sarah Strom (Mankato, Minn.) and freshman Morgan Goettlicher (Le Sueur, Minn.) each tallied career-high 10 kills.

Freshman Maddi Wendland (Arco, Minn.) had four service aces and added 15 digs. Classmate Esther Peeters (Maasbree Limburg, The Netherlands) joined her in double digits with 10.

Freshmen Megan Gallagher (Jackson, Minn.) and Paloma Garcia De Fuentes (Valladolid, Spain) had 28 and 19 assists, respectively as Bethany returned to a two-setter rotation.

Bethany owned the team advantage in service aces (14-7).

The Vikings continue their three-game roadtrip tomorrow against No.15 Northwestern at 11 a.m.
