MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team (9-4 overall, 9-0 UMAC) won its eighth-straight in the 1-0 double overtime victory over Northland (7-8, 5-4) Friday, to set a new school record. The previous longest winning streak was seven set in 2019.
Freshman Agostino Quadrio Curzio (Lecco, Italy) had the game-winning goal six minutes into the second overtime session as he capitalized on traffic in front of the net, in what was his lone shot on goal of the day.

BLC dominated the shot total (33-8), shots on goal (15-2) and corner kicks (10-5).
This was the second overtime game of the season. The Vikings are now 13-14-26 all-time in extra session contests.
Two-time defending UMAC defensive player of the week, freshman Nick Lundberg (Mankato, Minn.) earned the win in net, his seventh of the season, which was also his third shutout of the year.
Bethany continues its five-game homestand Saturday in a matchup that features the first place Vikings and the second-place UW-Superior YellowJackets at 3:30 p.m.
