Kinakin Becomes Season Record Holder in Shutouts

MANKATO, Minn.  – Senior goalkeeper Zoe Kinakin (Victoria, British Columbia) became the season record holder in shutouts, with her sixth, in the 4-0 win over Northland Friday. She surpassed the mark of five which had previously in four seasons, most recently by Averi Cash in 2016 (Katie Renner in 2009, Jada Holden in 2010, Alexa Mowery in 2011, and Cash).

Kinakin continues to extend her lead as the single season record holder for keeper wins as she earned her ninth "W" in net.

With the win, the Vikings moved to 9-4 overall and 6-4 in UMAC contests. This also completed the season sweep against the LumberJills.

BLC got on the board in the 25th minute as freshman Olaitz Azkue Muguruza (Orduna, Spain) connected on a pass from senior Maddie Perry (Anoka, Minn.)

Sophomore Lexi Kaufman (Fairmont, Minn.) doubled the margin 12 minutes into the second half on another pass from Perry. Sophomore Asia Jota (Pasadena, Calif.) made it a 3-0 game at 82:16 and freshman Laura Ruiz Rocha (Bogotá, Colombia) made it a four-goal advantage with her score at 85:26.
