MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team (5-4 overall, 5-0 UMAC) won its fourth-straight game in the 2-1 victory over Northwestern (3-4-1, 2-2-1) Saturday. This also marked the fourth-straight win over the Eagles in the series.
The Vikings continue to stand atop the UMAC standings.
The game was scoreless through the first half.
Freshman Gianluca Trastulli (Rome, Italy) connected on a corner kick from classmate Tomas Abreu (Lisbon, Portugal) for the first goal at 78:02. Just two minutes later, freshman Agostino Quadra Curzio (Lecco, Italy) booted one from midfield to double the margin.
The Eagles ended the shutout late in the game in the 83
rd minute.
