ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team (12-6 overall, 12-1 UMAC) defeated Northwestern (7-8-1, 6-6-1) 4-1 Wednesday night.
The game was scoreless through the first half and for most of the second as the first goal of the night occurred in the 62
nd minute. Junior Liam Peterson (Port Orchard, WA) headed the corner kick from classmate Jamie Smith (Kingston, Jamaica) into the top right corner of the net to take the 1-0 lead.
The Vikings scored their final three goals in the span of 11 minutes.
The Eagles ended the shutout with their goal at 81:00.
Freshman Nick Lundberg (Mankato, Minn.) made five saves and was credited with the win, his 10
th of the season.
Northwestern's top goalie was subbed out at halftime.
