ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team (12-6 overall, 12-1 UMAC) defeated Northwestern (7-8-1, 6-6-1) 4-1 Wednesday night.
 
The game was scoreless through the first half and for most of the second as the first goal of the night occurred in the 62^nd minute. Junior Liam Peterson (Port Orchard, WA) headed the corner kick from classmate Jamie Smith (Kingston, Jamaica) into the top right corner of the net to take the 1-0 lead.
 
The Vikings scored their final three goals in the span of 11 minutes.
 
The Eagles ended the shutout with their goal at 81:00.
 
Freshman Nick Lundberg (Mankato, Minn.) made five saves and was credited with the win, his 10^th of the season.
 
Northwestern's top goalie was subbed out at halftime.
