WAUKESHA, Wis. – Sophomore Hunter Nielsen (New Prague, Minn.) had 26 points and 12 rebounds, which set new career marks in both categories Friday in the 102-86 loss to LeTourneau (3-0 overall).
Three teammates joined him in double figures as senior Jared Milinkovich (New Prague, Minn.) had 18 points, junior Kaden Vaughn (St. Charles, Minn.) had 11 and senior Jacob Milinkovich (New Prague, Minn.) had 10.
Jacob Milinkovich had a career-high 13 rebounds to record a double double.
The Yellowjackets led 52-40 at halftime, but the Vikings battled back and cut the margin to seven (89-82) with 4:32 to play.
LeTourneau answered with a 4-0 run over the next minute to push the lead to 11. A layup from Nielsen sliced it to nine (93-84) with 3:16 left, but the Yellowjackets answered again and led by as many as 16 down the stretch.
Bethany owned the advantage in blocks (5-3), and on the glass (56-37), which included twice as many offensive rebounds (23-10).
The Vikings return to the court tomorrow when they face host-Carroll at 4 p.m.
