Box Score CHICAGO — The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team (4-1 overall) defeated Elmhurst (0-5) 63-46 to open competition at North Park's Tournament Friday.

The Bluejays led 10-9 after the first quarter. The Vikings responded with a 14-point second frame to take the 23-21 lead at halftime.

Elmhurst led by as many as seven in the third quarter (38-31) with :56 to play. BLC used a 27-point fourth frame effort, which included a 11-0 run in the first three minutes to reclaim the lead for good.

Three players finished in double digits as senior Hanna Geistfeld (Truman, Minn.) had 18, sophomore Sara Kottke (Buffalo Lake, Minn.) had 14, and junior Taryn Christensen (South Sioux City, Neb.) had 10.
Christensen led the team on the boards with a career-high nine rebounds.

Bethany returns to the court tomorrow when it faces host-North Park at 4 p.m.
