NEW ULM, Minn. – Senior Maddie Perry (Anoka, Minn.) scored both goals in Bethany Lutheran's (1-0 overall, 1-0 UMAC) 2-1 win over Martin Luther (0-1,0-1) Thursday. This win halted a three-game losing streak for the Vikings in the series.
The Knights were the first team in the board with their goal at 26:29.
Perry had the equalizer at 30:05.
This remained the score through halftime. Perry connected on a pass from junior Sydney Vrieze (Rochester, Minn.) at 50:35 for the game-winner.
Perry moved into second on the career leader list in goals (38) and remains third in points (89).
Junior Zoe Kinakin (Victoria, British Columbia) saved all the shots she saw in the second half to help seal the win.
Bethany owned the team advantages in shots and saves. Corner kicks were even at two each.
The Vikings return to the field Saturday as they will travel to face UW-Superior at 1 p.m.
